A flower shop stood at the corner of one of the busiest streets on town. The flower shop looks like the flower farm where its supplies are being derived. Every corner is filled with a wide array of beautiful flowers.
For Anathea, this is her sanctuary. Here, she can find her peace of mind by just admiring at the flowers. She often drops by here whenever she has spare time. The flower shop belongs to her best friend but her friend told her she can treat it as her own.
An old looking man entered the flower shop and approached Anathea. You can guess that she was a bit disappointed by the way she reacted.
The old looking man was the trusted butler of Anathea’s family. He has been serving them for almost half of his life. They are so good to him. He was not as a simple servant for them but a part of their family.
Anathea’s family has royal blood running through their veins. Her father was an earl. They are known for their having a heart of gold. They are very generous especially to the needy. In fact, her father built an orphanage in memory of her grandpa who is well known philanthropist. They were raised in a Christian home and taught how to be good Christians.
She has to attend an affair where most of the young children of all the high ranking officials will be attending. If she has the choice, she wouldn’t want to go. If not of her father’s wish, she would rather read stories to children in the orphanage rather than to be in a nonsense party.
Anathea was interrupted in her daydreaming when the carriage suddenly stopped.
Anathea: What happened?
Butler: I don’t know.
Anathea: Maybe something with the horses?
Butler: But I checked them very well this morning. Wait here. I’ll go down.
The butler hurriedly got down from the carriage to check what is wrong.
“Lady Anathea! You have to see this!”
Anathea hurriedly went down from the carriage to see what made the butler paler than paper.
Anathea: What’s the mat… oh, my God!!!
Butler: I found him unconscious but I think he’s not hurt.
Anathea: Don’t just stand there. Help me put him inside.
Butler: Lady Anathea, the party…
Anathea: I know. I can’t forget that. I just want to help him.
Anathea with the help of the butler was able to put the stranger in the carriage. It took time before the man revived his consciousness. But before that, Anathea was admiring the handsome face of the stranger.
Mico: Where am I? Who are you? What am I doing here?
Anathea: Well… we almost hit you and we decided we should take the responsibility. It’s a good thing that our horses didn’t hurt you or step on you. You might be in a hospital and not in here.
Mico: Sorry if I bothered you. I’ll try my best to repay you someday.
Anathea: You don’t have to. It’s nothing. By the way, what’s your name and if I’m not so intrusive, why did you faint out there?
Mico: The sun… its heat made me really dizzy.
Anathea: Oh, what’s your name?
Mico: My name? My name is Mi… co. Yeah, that’s my name.
Anathea: Cute name! So, where do you live? We can bring you home.
Mico: Thank you but I can manage. You can drop me off over that street.
Anathea: Are you sure? Well, you can go to my house if you need anything. I would be glad to help.
Anathea scribbled something on a piece of paper and gave it to the stranger.
The vehicle stopped to where Mico pointed and he hurriedly got down and walked straight to nowhere.
Anathea: What do you think of him?
Butler: Good looking but no manners.
Anathea: Maybe he’s just shy?
On the other hand, Mico was so confused and he doesn’t know where he would go. He is a complete stranger and doesn’t know anything about this town. He looked at piece of paper the lady has given him. He had been rude. She is just trying to help him.
Mico decided to ask help from the lady but because of his stupid shyness he forgot to ask his name. All he did was to stare at her eyes. He was so astonished by her beauty. He felt terrible of his actions towards her. He wished that he could see her again.
While he was walking at the sidewalk, he thought of something. He can still remember what the carriage looks like. He will look for it and ask forgiveness to the sweet lady.
Back to Anathea and the butler in the vehicle…
Anathea: What do you think of him?
Butler: You’ve asked that three times.
Anathea: He’s cute like his name. What’s his name again?
Butler: Mico.
Anathea: Uhmm… When do you think I can see him again?
Butler: Someday maybe.
Anathea: So, how about where will find him?
Butler: Ok, this is enough. I’m a butler not a psychic.
Anathea: Oh my god, he’s so cute.
Butler: Daydreaming over. We’re here.
Anathea: Huh?
Butler: Party.
Anathea: Oh! Just a second.
Back to reality, Anathea composed herself and checked herself at the mirror twice. Even if she doesn’t want to go to social gatherings, her mother told her to she has to look good when she deals with people.
When she entered the hall, she saw some of her childhood friends in the dance floor with their respective partners. This was also one of the reasons why she doesn’t want to go to the party. She didn’t have someone with her that made her feel so alone.
Philippe: Hi! I thought you were not coming.
Anathea: And who said that?
Philippe: Your father sent my father a letter that you might not come today.
Anathea: I knew it.
Philippe: I think Uncle has a point.
Anathea: And you’re siding with them?
Philippe: Dear cousin, I was just kidding. Anyway would you care for a dance?
Anathea: It is so nice for you to say that. Why not?
And so the two went to the dance floor and danced. Time drifted away that they barely noticed it. It seems that nothing’s wrong until…
Look out!!!
The large chandelier was on its way down to where Anathea and Philippe were dancing. Mico showed up from nowhere and pushed the two to safety. Everyone was relieved that both of them are safe but they forgot someone.
